I would first like to state that this is written with no disrespect meant. I was just thinking that maybe there are too many unnessesary ranks in our forums here. I have only ever heard of 8 ranks of sith that I have ever heard of.
Darkside Adept Darkside Senior Adept Darkside Master Adept Sith Apprentice Sith Knight Sith Warrior Sith Master Sith Lord
Once again I would like to state that this was written to just state an opinion and make a point.

True and once again no disrespect or complaint is meant by this. It's just earlier in some posts when you told me the rankings I got interested and looked them up. It's actually quite cool.

on www.sithism.com, they show a ranking system, and I was curious as to what their special rank of "Pratorian" was about. Any clue?

tbh i dont know - they have no listing saying what the special ranks are for - either its just for extremely senior members, or its a rank awarded for certain "achievements" or maybe even a rank given to some global mods/admins
those would be my best ideas on the subject anyway
...anyway... Sith Preatorian...:
prae·to·ri·an also pre·to·ri·an (pr-tôr-n, -tr-)
adj. Of or relating to a praetor or the praetorship.
Praetorian Of or belonging to the Praetorian Guard.
Venal; corruptible: “A large praetorian bureaucracy, filled with ambitious, possessive... and often sycophantic people, makes work and makes trouble”
(Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr.).
n. A praetor or ex-praetor. Praetorian A member of the Praetorian Guard
...dont quite see what relation that has to anything Sith- related

I've heard that you rank increase as the years that you are loyal to the culture grows.

Oh on this site yeah but I'm talking about the people who actually follow the religion outside of this site in the real sith order.

Praetorian-I think it is a Roman title.
Real Sith Order? I'm sure there are some who are Sith even when not doing internet. Not everyone has steady access to internet.
Are you really wondering, is there an Illuminati that pulls the strings in this world?

Empress is right that it is a roman title. The Praetorian Guard were the Roman elite - none were better in any way than them. Some of them were also used by the emperor's as their personal guardsmen

So in a way if people didn't know better they could say that Lucas used that aspect of the Roman culture.

No.. afaik, the Sithism site, on which that is used as a rank, has absolutely nothing to do with star wars, and therefore no relation whatsoever to lucas.. or so they claim anyway

I noticed on the new way you have this board it looks like some "aditional" rank. What is Karma as used in our avitar box? What is smite and exalt as used in the avitar box? Please explain. Thank you.

Its a default feature on proboards - its a way for user's to rate eachother. Exault adds 1 to the rating, while smite does a -1 Im most likely going to change it at some point to something that would fit in better with the theme here, but cant think of what to chnage it to :S
