What could be considered sith technology and Alchemy?

Well, in the eyes of lets say...Christianity, there are advents of technology coming out they would not agree with.
Life extension, digital immortality, prosthetic bodies, cyberization, these things are not bad in the Siths point of view. But ask the common man, they will say "Living forever is bad". I take this to heart as Sith religion is the only one I have found that allows for this. Almost all others see dying as part of something that MUST happen. I have read Ray Kurzweils book, and I plan on living well into the next century. With todays technology and medicine alone, Ray Kurzweil has not aged in over 16 years at all.
This could extend ones life to the years in which nanotechnology is created, which would improve the function, fix malfunctions and radically extend the human life. Radical life extension is something Christianity, even Judaism, and many Asian religions would not, and do not support.
Another thing of the Sith religion is its openmindedness. Not saying "WE KNOW ALL AND IF YOU DON"T FOLLOW US YOU'RE WRONG". That's not at all the way, it is probably the most open minded religion I've ever seen. And if it open minded to something such as radical life extension, and cyberization, which would then open the possibilities for literal immortality, I say take it.
We will see these technologies take shape by 2015 in the form of BioMechanics and in the consumer drug industry. Medicines will become better, artificial bodyparts will become better than our real ones. To the point where we will be able to become completely artificial. Including the brain. The biggest step for this to happen is being able to "download" ones brain into a computer, and a computer able to process the load of a brains thoughts, or...outperform...
We will see how that turns out.

I see and I must agree when you say that we are very openminded. We do not force our religion, our beliefs on others it is not the sith way. If you force your religion on someone they tend not to be totally loyal and to be a true sith you must be loyal to all aspects of the culture.

Yeah I don't think there is such thing as sith technology in real world sithism.

Once we get more organized you'll see it. I mean on the Sithism site, they talk about wanting to have a Sith president and stuff. And the way they said it, it seemed realistic. On that note if that level of organization is capable of the Sith, then we could easily start developing technologies. I mean really, if we can get the bureaucrats on our side, we can easily get the scientists lol.
And then we'll have lightsabers and robot body parts ^_^

to clear all gthis up, in the forum description areas, if its sw related, forum will be marked [SW] if its real-life stuff, it will be marked [RL]. if it applies to both, then [SW & RL]

Post by Empress Palpatine on Jun 18, 2005 2:30:43 GMT
I think Palpatine elaborated on Sith alchemy when he described what Darth Plageous could do. He said he could manipulate midiclorians to create or extend life. I think it is interesting that the art of longevity is in the "Sith" category. He does not say how it is done. He gives room to speculate.
There is an eastern practice called qigong. Some allege that the practice has caused some masters to live over 200 years. Related to this practice is kundalini yoga, which is said to do the same thing. It was also a goal of medieval alchemists.
Usually with these eastern practices comes a requirement to change the whole lifestyle. The recommended lifestyle does not fit western goals of money and success. The one who invented qigong spent years meditating by staring at a wall. He developed a way to have the Force flow through his body and make himself healtheir and stronger.
There is a big contradiction, to have the powers of the Force means to drop out of mainstream society. Would one want the Force this badly?

Let me think all I have to do to live for 200 years is drop out of society. I'll take it.

It is probably society and its ways that shorten one's life. Leaving it would no doubt add a few years.
I would love to speculate on what Palpatine was talking about in the opera house concerning manipulating midiclorians, etc. Are there any other references in Star Wars books about this?

The Star Wars Technology is far advanced to ours. We are about a thousand years from the invention of Lightsabers. As to liveing for ever, the Johova's witnesses claim that "God" will wave a wand and do just that. Since this world is to republican death is more tempting at this time. I like the non-dogmatic attitude of the Sith also.

The Alchmy was also expressed in this book I have It shows a picture of Palpatine's medical kit. In the medical kit the book says there are potions. Potions useualy is used in Alchmy and witchcraft. The technology part is when Vader gets the famous suit. Do to being new I goofed the first time and did not realize that this part had 2 pages. Sorry.
