On April 4, 2005, a whole slew of Episode III Revenge of the Sith toys went on sale. Target beat Walmart to the punch by sending out some very nice invites to Star Wars fans to come see the new toys for sale. It was the day after my birthday, so my friend and I went down there to have a look. I got the perfect 12 inch Palpatine doll. He's got that Sithly grin and every wrinkle on his pale face. The artist did an exceptional job on this figure. Even his hands are well done. They are elegantly carved. One hand has moving fingers that are made to hold a lightsaber, and yes, he has a lightsaber! From what I hear, he will use it on four Jedi in the upcoming movie. This figure has a somewhat different style robe and a triangular pin on the front. I have given this doll a place of honor on my bed next to my stuffed animals. I also got a small Palpatine action figure. This one is in the traditional black robe. It is a small figure, but the detail and likeness are very well done. This one also has a lightsaber. He even has a little plastic "lightning blast." (I'm afraid this does not look so real. Luckily it is an add-on and does not have to be used.) I have this one on my dresser next to my hematite stone. Hematite is a good symbol of the emporer since it is a dark colored stone (iron-based), and yet has a shimmer to it. It symbolizes that glistening darkness from which he comes. Anyone else get some cool Sith toys?
